THE National Trust will receive £45,000 to help build a new visitor centre at Birling Gap.
Major partnership funding has led to the financing of the project via The South Downs National Park.
The park authority will work closely with the National Trust to jointly develop the centre to support visitor understanding of the landscapes, wildlife and rich cultural heritage of the area.
The South Downs Major Partnerships Fund has been put in place to enable the South Downs National Park Authority to build strong strategic partnerships that deliver significant benefits to the National Park and the people who live, work and spend their leisure time here.
Anyone can apply to the SDNPA for Major Partnerships Funding. More information about the fund is at www.southdowns.gov.uk/majorpartnershipsfund.
