Birthday bash fun at childcare party

The Midcounties Co-operative trades in food retail, funeral, travel, pharmacy, childcare nurseries, flexible benefits and energy.

The society is also responsible for running a number of post offices.

The Watersmead Business Park based nursery that the children who helped organise the birthday bash attend is operated by the society.

The children worked together to help host and enjoy a range of fun activities.

This included party games, cake decorating, and a traditional birthday tea.

With the help of nursery colleagues, the children also put up balloons and banners in honour of the occasion.

Parents were also invited to join the party.

The birthday bash held in Littlehampton formed part of a national celebration taking place across The Midcounties Co-operative Society.

Its branches in Food, Travel, Healthcare, and Funeralcare held their own festivities to commemorate the event.

Emma Bowman, manager at The Co-operative Childcare in Littlehampton, said: “The Midcounties Co-operative’s 10th birthday is an important milestone and we are extremely proud to be a part of the Society.

“We wanted to do something fun to mark the special day, and letting the children organise it was a great way to get them engaged.”

The Littlehampton nursery is rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted.

It promotes a close relationship with parents and family with events held throughout the year

The nursery has a garden area with a mud kitchen, gardening area, and a large sand pit for the children to explore.

The children are divided between five age specific rooms, each of which has a core curriculum of activities appropriate to the age of the children, ranging from baby massage to yoga.
