A new affordable housing development at Sun Close in Plumpton was officially opened by Hastoe Housing Association and Richard Jackson, The Bishop of Lewes on Friday May 15.

Plumpton Parish Council invited Action in Rural Sussex, Lewes District Council and Hastoe to build affordable housing in the village in 2011.

In total there are 14 affordable homes, with 12 for rent and two for shared ownership, on land in North Barns Lane.

Hastoe’s chief executive Sue Chalkley said: “I wish to thank The Right Reverend Richard Jackson for opening our new housing scheme at Sun Close. This scheme means that local people won’t need to move away from the village that they live, work or grew up in, and the homes will be held in perpetuity for the local community.”
