Bizarre pub game raises cash for charity

ALTHOUGH not quite ready for a Champion's League and media saturation, the 'sport' of Dwyle Flunking is blossoming in Lewes.

The Lewes Arms team took on a team of rookie flunkers, the East Grinstead Hash Harriers.

As most Lewesians know the rules are quite complicated but any game which involves 24 people, a sopping wet beer mat, a long pole and a bucket of beer, is always going to be a lot of fun.

On the day the experienced Lewes Arms flunkers narrowly won the contest but more importantly a well-supported tombola and collection raised more than 200 for the Rhys Jones Memorial Fund, the charity of choice for Liverpudlian turned Lewesian, Paul Wilkinson of Talbot Terrace.
