Blooming Ninfield boasts a wealth of gardening talent

Spring in all its glory was celebrated at the Ninfield Horticultural Society show on Saturday, March 24, which was well attended and much admired.

A sunny warm day was the perfect backdrop to the event at Ninfield Memorial Hall.

Show organiser Rose Franks commented: “The lovely narcissi and other Spring flowers reminded us all of the freshness and beauty of this time of year. At 266, the number of entries was above average. Entries in the photography classes had increased and the standard was high. The varied handicraft items and beautiful flower arrangements again demonstrated how skilled local people are. The colourful hand print fishes entered by the Ninfield pre-school group showed how talent shows itself at a very young age.”

She said the committee was “encouraged to see just how many people of all ages enjoy taking part in this popular village event” and it is hoped to continue to attract new exhibitors and visitors in future.

The society’s next event is the Plant Sale on April 28.
