Firework and bonfire display: what a huge success this year was at the Castle Inn fireworks and bonfire display. Plenty for people to enjoy during the event and the Castle Inn would like to thank everyone for all the support and hope this traditional event continues.

Christmas: happy times will soon be with us. I am happy for just one day, Boxing Day - if the family go out I can watch the King George VI Chase but I have some Christmas dates for our church. Carols on December 18 at 6 PM and on Christmas Day family communion at 11:15 AM. Graham Atfield will take them both. Please support us. The next service at St Giles will be on December 4 and is a family service at 11:15 AM which Graham will take.

Remembrance: what a good turnout at St Giles and at the village war memorial and it was good to see children at the wreath laying. I must say the priest who took the service impressed me, perhaps it would be good for him to take more the services of St Giles? I do hope the churchwardens like my advice but the end of the day it’s up to them. It’s right that every year Bodiam remembers those who fell for freedom.
