Bodiam

School Football: I was so happy to read that our Bodiam Church of England Primary School now has football every Wednesday, run by Mr Ashdown. The school has many other clubs but payment is required.

Hops: Some years ago Bodiam had many acres of hops. At the peak of Arthur Guinness and Sons in Bodiam 850 acres were under hops, the last hops were farmed about 1970 and the farms were sold off from 1976. We do still have a small amount of hops at Peters Green, Bodiam, the farm of Gillian and Chris Daws.

Castle Inn: I know people will say “He would say that” ( but you do not know Geoffrey) I had a very good meal with members of the Rotary Club of Senlac the other week ( I am not a member of Rotary), I do not have much of a life but I do like good food and that is what I had at the Castle Inn, Bodiam.
