Cricket: The next cricket fixture on August 17 is away to Crowhurst with a start of 2.30pm.

Church: The next service at St Giles Church is Holy Communion at 11.15am on August 17. Gordon the vicar of Bodiam will take the service. Do please phone Gordon with any questions about baptisms, weddings or other matters. The rectory phone number is 01580 830268. Gordon has a day off on a Wednesday when he goes for a cream tea and his wife has a box of Malteasers.

Tractor push: Look out for the great tractor push from Rye to Sandhurst that will come to Bodiam on August 24. The aim is to raise money for the Stroke Association. The push will stop at the Castle Inn and after refreshments on to Hawkhurst and Sandhurst when the push will end. More information from Adam on 07860941225.

Date for the diary: the next Parish Council meeting is on August 26, 7pm in the Parish Room. These meetings are open to the public who can attend and have the opportunity to speak at 7.30pm.

Barry Spray: I saw Barry Spray the other day. Barry was the police officer for Bodiam before we had a PCSO. I am sure he would like to send his best wishes to Bodiam and to his friends that he made. Both of them.
