Bodiam

As I have said before too many people in a small village like Bodiam go in and out of hospital and now we have 91-year-old Helen Dawson in the Conquest Hospital. i am sure by the time this village voice comes out our Helen will be back at home in Levetts Lane.

The village cricket team had only one team on the weekend indoor cricket this season and won four games and lost six. ON May 18 Bodiam takes on Mountfield away. Play Starts at 2pm.

We had a very good meeting with our housing officer dear Marie Lapierre at the Levettes Lane neighbourhood inspection but what a lot Marie has to do for Levetts Lane. A skip, kerb put back. the hedge on the side of number one cut hard back and Marie has until July 28 to do all this. What will Ammicus Horizon say? Will it be too expensive for e a little place like Levetts Lane,

Next service at St Giles Church will be on may 18 at 11.15am and will be Holy Communion.

The granddaughter of Phyllis Landels from Levetts Lane, Kirsty, is taking part in the sponsored London to Brighton cycle race on Sunday June 15 for the British Heart Foundation. if anyone would like to sponsor Kirtsy phone 01424 830632 or if you see her out for a run early on the the day put some money in her hand, but tell her what it’s for.

It was a happy birthday last Sunday for Pam Marsh, the lady who is great help to Bodiam in many ways. Some of us would like to have taken Pam out for a birthday meal but we do not have any money but I am sure Pam had a good day out with her family.

The parish council meets on May 19 in the Parish Room for their AGM.

It was good to hear that Patrick Stevens is the new hon treasurer to St Giles Church. Patrick’s home is at Longacre, that used to be Justin’s on the Bodiam to Sandhurst road.
