Bodiam village voice - March 30

I AM sure we have some couples in Bodiam who married in 1952 so this year it will be the wedding anniversary (Diamond) and this will make the Diamond Jubilee.

Good news for Bodiam, the cricket season starts very soon and the first fixture at home will be on April 22 at 2pm when the club takes on Crowhurst. For more information call Karen on 01424 436523.

East Sussex County Council is to carry out refurbishment works on the Hammer Ditch Bridge, Junction Road. The duration of works is from April 9 to May 18 and they will be carried out under a temporary road closure. A local diversion route will be signed and maintained for the duration of the work. Sorry to hear of the accident to that helpful lady Pam Marsh in the village. We need Pam to be up and about in the parish. We need you and the walking bus. The only bus in Bodiam that runs on time.

Sorry to hear that Tom Weeks has died. Tom and his family had a home at Northlands in Guinness Hop Farm’s time and did play a big part in church life. Tom was 95. The village, I am sure, all send condolences to the family.
