Body found in bushes near sports club in Hastings

It is believed the man’s body was found by children playing near the Elphinstone Sports and Social Club in Elphinstone Road, shortly before 6pm.
Sussex Police have identified the dead man as Richard Smith, 47, a local man who had recently been of no fixed address.

Hide AdA postmortem has been held and results are awaited, but at this stage Mr Smith’s death is not being treated as suspicious.
The Coroners Officer is continuing enquiries.
