Bognor development document

A DOCUMENT which sets the tone of development around Bognor Regis was scrutinised on Friday (August 10)

The town’s civic society debated Arun District Council’s draft local plan.

Arun’s assistant director of planning and economic development, Karl Roberts, presented a talk about the draft plan and answered questions.

Civic society deputy chairman Hugh Coster said the plan’s contents were vitally important for the future of the town.

Matters such as the Regis Centre, flooding and drainage, and jobs were in the draft plan.

“All this is vitally important as it sets the agenda for the next 15 years or so,” he said.

“If we don’t make specific comment now, and subsequent permissions are granted which we don’t like, Arun will be quite justified in saying we made no objections when we were consulted.”
