This year saw over 130 entries from the rainbows, brownies, guides and rangers, each designing what they thought was fitting for the Queen’s 90th birthday in flowers.

After much deliberation by the In Bloom Working Party, a finalist from each group was chosen, these were: Sophie Crouch (1st Bognor Regis Rainbows), Abi Pacey (3rd Felpham Guides) and Chloe-Anne (Bognor South Rangers), who each received a certificate for their creativity and all their hard work.

Division commissioner Janet Erkiert said: “It is so good for the girls to have the opportunity to take part in an event run by the town council and Bognor in Bloom.

“Girlguiding is given a challenge each year and this is always met with enthusiasm.

“Taking part makes the girls feel part of a community, gives them a greater awareness of plants and flowers and also goes towards various badges. Winning is the icing on the cake.”
