Bognor meeting to learn about strokes

An event about strokes is being held in Bognor Regis.

The information session about how to identify, treat and live with the serious condition will take place at Maywood Healthcare Centre.

It will be led by St Richard's Hospital consultant Dr Simone Ivatt. The Stroke Association will also be present to offer advice to carers.

The evening starts at 7pm on May 12 at the Hawthorn Road centre. Free

tickets are available from its reception.

Strokes are a leading cause of severe disability and are the third most

common cause of death in the UK.

Maywood Patient Group chairman Peter Coles said: "This is a major

medical problem where quick action by family, colleagues or passers-by can save lives and reduce disability."
