The Bognor MP met with Peter Spicer, after sales manager at Yeomans, on Friday, October 28.

Mr Spicer is one of a number of representatives from businesses located in the Arun Business Park to raise concerns since the Household Waste Recycling Site at Bognor was closed for two days a week from the start of October.

Mr Gibb said: “I am appalled by the decision by West Sussex County Council to reduce the operating days of this busy amenity tip.

“It is having a damaging effect on local businesses and it’s causing danger for motorists and pedestrians.

“It is also hugely inconvenient for residents of Bognor Regis. I have written to the council and am calling on them to reverse this short-sighted decision.”

Following the many concerns over safety and congestion, county councillor David Barling, cabinet member for resident services, last week told the Observer he would be willing to hold a meeting with business owners.
