Bognor Regis firm declares business as usual despite vandal attack

It was business as usual this week after a Bognor Regis firm was targeted by vandals.

Home improvement company Kayvex suffered thousands of pounds of damage to its recently-opened showroom and two vehicles.

The sustained attack saw the glass front entrance of the showroom, on the Arun Business Park off Shripney Road, smashed.

Two company vans parked outside were also attacked. One was so severely damaged it might have to be written off.

As repairs got under way, Kayvex director Ian Parrott said: "At this stage, it does seem to have just been a senseless attack of vandalism.

"But we have to keep an open mind and, of course, Sussex Police are dealing with the matter.

"However, while we repair the damage I'm pleased we're able to keep the showroom open which is vital to ensure we can maintain our staffing levels and continue to do business in the current climate."

The damage occurred just four months after the showroom was opened.

Kayvex is one of the leading conservatory installers in the area and employs 20 people.

When the showroom opened, Mr Parrott said it marked a significant expansion for the company at a time when many businesses were struggling in the current economic conditions.
