Bognor Regis Illuminations procession to be longest in years

This year's illuminated gala looks to be the longest along Bognor Regis seafront for years.

Almost 20 entries have been received for the night-time spectacle taking place on Sunday, August 30. They consist of walking groups, car owners' clubs, two bands and, possibly, two floats.

More inquiries were also being made to the event's organisers at Bognor Regis Seafront Lights this week.

Lights secretary Greg Burt said: "This looks like it will be our longest procession in the seven years we have been running the gala."

A street collection will take place during the procession in aid of the lights.

The procession leaves West Park at 8.30pm. Prize-giving will take place at the Royal Hotel at 9.45pm and will be followed by fireworks from the pier at 10pm.

A funfair will be in place all weekend along The Esplanade between Lennox Street and Clarence Road. This will see traffic diverted through Belmont Street.
