Bognor Regis policeman injured in knife attack

He was confronted by a man armed with two knives after going to deal with a call from a distressed woman at a house in Bognor Regis on Thursday, January 3.

The officer was treated in hospital for a knife wound to his hand but has since been discharged.

The police officer was the only person whose injuries required medical treatment.

Lee Thompson (37), of Bognor Regis, has been charged with assault, resisting arrrest and possession of offensive weapons. He is due to appear at Chichester Crown Court on January 21.
