Bognor Regis to Bangor ride raises £3,000

SOME £3,000 has been raised by nine friends who rode between the piers of Bognor Regis and Bangor.

They completed the 350-mile journey in five days to be greeted by relatives and friends.

Their arrival on Bognor seafront on Friday, August 12, came after nearly 20 punctures, four new tyres and two bike changes – but it was worthwhile to help Cancer Research UK.

One of the riders, Bognor resident Rob McCorquodale, 24, said: “The ride went really well. We had lots of hills and different challenges. But it was a good week with the boys – and the girls in the support car as well.”

He was joined by Stuart Luffman, Matt Thompson, Rob Holmes, Anthony Holmes, Chris Misselbrook, Steve Tideswell, Tyson Stevens and Matt Robins.

The former Bognor Regis Community College students decided on the ride to spend time together and help a charity. Their route took them over Snowdonia to Kidderminster, Burford and Alton.
