Bognor woman dies after eight-vehicle crash on A29

Police are appealing for information after a 76-year-old woman from Bognor Regis died nine days after she was involved in a crash on the A29.

Eight vehicles were involved in a collision on Shripney Road at about 12.40pm on Friday, February 28, police said.

Emergency services attended the scene and, according to Sussex Police, minor injuries were reported by three people, all of whom were taken to St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester for treatment and released the same day.

A spokesman added: "However, one of them – a 76-year-old woman from Bognor Regis – who was a passenger in a Mercedes A Class – was re-admitted to hospital on Tuesday, March 3, with head and neck pain.

"She sadly died on Sunday, March 8, believed to be as a result of the injuries she sustained in the collision."

Police are now appealing for anyone who saw what happened, or anyone with dash cam or CCTV, to email [email protected] quoting Operation Highgate.
