Bognor youngsters show their spirit for good cause

YOUNG members of the Salvation Army took to the streets of Bognor Regis for charity.

The group of 20-plus five to 11-year-olds from the Kid’s Alive club at the church raised more than £180 on a sponsored walk in aid of the Sussex Snowdrop Trust.

Lt Marion Ruffett, of the Salvation Army Corps in Bognor, said: “The walk was suggested by some of the children who, in the past year, have been personally affected by loss due to terminal illness and who wanted to do something to help others affected.”

The club has received funding from Arun Wellbeing and meets every week at the Salvation Army Church and Community Centre in Canada Grove.

Its members take part in a range of games, craft and cooking activities as well as being encouraged to build friendships and think about others.
