Chairman Mark Sullivan said the business was 'thrilled' to be coming to the historic town. He said: "We have been inundated with requests to open in West Sussex and the Home Counties, so it's great to arrive at last, bringing craft bakery and our award-winning products to local customers."

The new bakery will officially open at 10am and is located in the Arcade on the High Street.

In a statement the business, which was established in 1860 and is recognised as the world’s oldest Cornish pasty maker, said the premises will create six jobs for residents.

It is being opened in partnership with local businessman Lee Johnston who said, with the rise in popularity in craft baking, it seemed like the right time to bring a little bit of Cornwall to Bognor Regis.

“We love the fact that bringing fresh local ingredients and traditional craft skills involved together, has survived the test of time from the love of a farmer’s son and baker’s daughter. Everyone that has been to Cornwall for holidays will remember their first Cornish Pasty. We’re sure that Warrens Bakery will evoke those memories just like it did with us.”

Town mayor councillor Phil Woodall, who will be attending the grand opening, said he was 'delighted' to be able to welcome 'such a well-established and award-winning business to the town'.

He added: "It is fantastic that Warrens Bakery have chosen to come to Bognor Regis, this is what regeneration is all about and a sign we are moving in the right direction. I’m very much looking forward to sampling the bakery’s famous pasties and am sure this business will be very popular with our townsfolk and visitors alike.”

The arrival of the Bognor Regis store coincides with the launch of the latest spring range of new bakes meaning locals can be among the first to try the ‘Around the World in 80 Days’ limited-edition range of pasties and sandwiches inspired by family meal-time favourites from around the globe.

Two more eateries are set to open in the Arcade, which was purchased last year by Arun District Council, with dates indicated for next month.
