Bookies surprise for hospital patients and staff
PATIENTS and staff at the Conquest hospital's Kipling Ward had an unexpected chocolate Easter surprise thanks to the generosity of staff and customers at Bexhill Ladbrokes.
Manager of the Western Road bookmakers, Jon Dodd, along with staff members Luke Ashenden and Will Cosens visited the children's ward and presented Easter eggs to the children and chocolates to the nurses.
Jon said: "Will suitably dressed up as a chicken and it was a fantastic morning. We all enjoyed seeing the children's faces light up - though I'm not sure if that was due to the eggs or the chicken!"
The money raised to buy the chocolates and eggs was through in-shop activities including Irish Lotto bonus ball sweepstakes and donations from customers.
