Kevin Clarke, 46, of Church Walk, Worthing, was one of five finalists to attend a boot camp event at Wembley Stadium last Monday.

The finalists are battling it out to be crowned the People’s Pundit and win the chance to commentate on a Premier League game live on talkSPORT on the final day of the season.

During boot camp, the finalists faced a number of tasks including a mock-up press conference with ex-Arsenal footballer Ray Parlour and a pitch side preview of an England game.

Having prepared for the preview, the finalists were then told they had ten minutes to prepare for a breaking news story instead. At pitch side the topic was changed again.

Liverpool and Brighton fan Kevin said: “The big curveball was definitely the pitch side one. Ray Parlour, Jeff Stelling, Mark Saggers and the whole crew – everyone was down there.

“It was really adrenaline pumping high pressure. The first time I heard it was on talkSPORT. I was amazed at how calm I sounded because my head was just spinning. I was quite shocked.

“I’m really enjoying the experience. I’m not going to get this opportunity again. I’m trying hard to do as much as I can to win it.”

Kevin will appear on talkSPORT tonight at around 6.30pm for his first on air challenge.
