Bouncing for cash to aid school

School pupils became bouncers to raise money for a Bognor Regis school. All 330-plus children at Michael Ayres Junior School took part in a bounce day.

Small groups of them spent two minutes seeing how many times they could spring up and down on a bouncy castle.

Volunteer adults counted their sponsored efforts.

The exertions raised 2,703.09 to help The Friends of Michael Ayres to buy interactive whiteboards and computer equipment for the classrooms. The most money raised by a pupil was Charlotte Lewis from year three. The best bouncers among the seven to 11-year-olds were: Yr 3 '“ Bethany Gallagher, Yr4 '“ Charlotte Parslow, Yr5 '“ Kira Degennaro, Yr6 '“ Max Tweedy. The best adult bouncer was teaching assistant Sam Lloyd. Deputy head Alex Blackman said: 'Bounce Day was fun and incredibly well supported.'
