Bowling treat for Sidley youngsters

It's always great to be appreciated...as youngsters from Sidley CP School found out when they were taken to Ocean Bowling.

Two children from each class were chosen by their class teacher to participate in an afternoon of bowling - fourteen went in total.

This was a special treat to reward pupils for excellent behaviour and good work during the last school term.

The children have been earning 'planet points' during the school term, these are recorded and displayed by the class teachers. Planet Point Certificates are awarded to those children who have collected the most.

Head teacher Julie Reece is "very proud" of the children who chosen for this event and was pleased to be able to acknowledge their good behaviour within the school community.

She said: "One of the reasons we are doing this is to encourage good behaviour and positive attitudes towards work, but also to make sure that children who are always good and try hard are rewarded and get attention for the efforts they have put in.

"They loved it...It was good. It is nice for me as well because I get to see them have fun and they get to see me in a different light."
