Boy attacked in car park

Police are appealing for witnesses after a boy was attacked in a car park in St Leonards.

The 16-year-old was with two girls in the car park of Asda in Battle Road when he was assaulted by two boys.

The attack happened close to a trolley park near the petrol station towards the back of the car park between 5pm and 5.15pm on Friday, November 14.

The victim got away from the attackers and walked towards the Asda store. He had suffered a split lip.

The first attacker was white, in his mid to late teens, of average build and about 5ft 10ins with short brown curly hair. He wore a beige coat and dark coloured jeans.

The second attacker was white, in his mid teens, about 5ft tall and of slight build. He was wearing a grey tracksuit and a grey hooded top with the hood pulled up over his head.

A 17-year-old from St Leonards has been arrested on suspicion of assault. He was questioned before being released on bail until Friday, January 9.

Sergeant Chris Russell said: “There may be a number of shoppers who saw what happened but who have not contacted us.

“If you saw what happened or know who was involved, please get in touch.”
