Boy badly hurt in moped crash

The teenager came off the road at Roderick Avenue just before 2am on Saturday and is now in the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with life-threatening injuries.

It is believed he was travelling home from Brighton when the accident happened.

Police said no other vehicle was involved.

A Sussex Ambulance Service spokesman said many members of the public called about the accident. 'He had very significant head injuries and was totally unconscious when we arrived. He was very ill and it was very serious.'
