Boy in hospital with head injury following Peacehaven collision

A BOY suffered head injuries and fractures in Peacehaven after he ran into the road and collided with a Ford Transit.

Police and emergency services were called to Roderick Avenue near Balcombe Road at around 4.47pm.

The boy, aged 12, was taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Sussex Police described the 12-year-old’s injuries as serious but non life threatening.

The 28-year-old driver of the blue Ford Transit from Polegate was uninjured.

PC Lee Millard from Polegate Road Policing Unit said: “This incident could have been a lot worse and we are all very grateful that the child did not receive life threatening injuries.

“We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the boy prior to the collision.”
