“It is going to be open 24 hours a day,” said spokesman for BP.

“It will have a M&S Simply Food so people can do their shopping at the same time.

“There will be normal pumps and room for HGV vehicles with around 35 parking spaces for shoppers.

“We think it will create about 15 jobs for local people.

“There is also going to be a footpath so people can access the petrol station from Emsworth.

“We chose the site because we thought there wasn’t a service station on the westbound carriage way for some distance.

“It means people can stop off on their way to Portsmouth.”
