An Eastbourne man has been charged with causing the death of a 25-year-old in a road crash earlier this year.
Ben Cook, a railway maintenance engineer, died after returning from work on the morning of Sunday (June 5) when the commercial pick-up truck he was a passenger in was involved in a collision with a tree on the A267 at Little London.
The driver of the truck was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and bailed until yesterday (Thursday September 22) pending further enquiries.
Sussex Police said this morning Francis Woods, 57, a railway employee, of Whitley Close, Eastbourne, was charged and has been bailed to appear before Hastings Magistrates’ Court on October 26 charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
