BREAKING: Eastbourne man dies in A22 accident

A 68-year-old man died in an accident on the A22 yesterday (Monday).

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the accident at 4.55pm on the A22 near Lower Dicker, just south of the Boship Roundabout, after a car collided with a lamppost on the central reservation.

Police say the driver of the black Fiesta, a 68-year-old man from Eastbourne, sadly died at the scene.

The southbound carriageway was closed, as was one lane heading north, for around two and a half hours while the incident was investigated and the scene made safe.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and anhyone with any information is asked to email [email protected] or call 101, quoting Operation Barmouth.
