Firefighters tackled a house fire in Ringmer in the early hours of this morning (March 18).

Crews from Lewes, Heathfield, Uckfield, Barcombe and Hove were called to the blaze in Broyle Lane at 4.53am.

They used a hose reel, a main jet and breathing equipment to tackle the flames.

A investigation into cause of the fire will take place later today.

Broyle Lane is currently closed and we would ask the public to avoid the area.

Sussex Police and South East Coast Ambulance are also at the scene.
