BREAKING NEWS: Empty Littlehampton shop in fire scare
Firefighters were called to the Woolworths store, in Surrey Street, Littlehampton, at 11.34am today (Friday, October 23), when an intruder alarm was set off, activating a "smoke cloak".
The security device filled the shop, which has been closed since the end of last year, with thick smoke.

Hide AdCrew commander Evans, of Littlehampton fire station, said: "We were called to an incident of smoke issuing, and when we got here found that it was the anti-intruder device.
"We have sent in two firefighters with breathing apparatus to see if anyone was in there, but it is clear. We have no idea what set the alarm, off, as the shop has been closed for some months."
Two fire engines are at the store, using fans to ventilate it, and the road is closed to traffic.
