BREAKING NEWS: Eye witness reports seeing plane burst into flames after Shoreham crash

A MAN who was sitting on Shoreham Beach when two planes collided today (Monday, July 4) has said one of the planes “burst into flames”.

Paul James said he saw two light aircraft collide over Brighton Road.

“I wondered what the bang was and then everyone started to run,” he said.

“Part of the first plane came down on the beach.”

He added: “One of the planes burst into bits and crashed into the Adur Recreation Ground and burst into flames.

“It must be a fatality.”

Mr James was unsure whether the second aircraft made it back to Shoreham Airport.
