BREAKING NEWS: Fire in roof of building in Seaford


Fire engines from Eastbourne have been mobilised to a fire in Seaford this afternoon (June 17).

A call came into East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service at 3.30pm, to a fire in a roof at Guardswell Place.

A fire service, spokesman said, “As of 4.15pm there are five fire engines (from Seaford, Newhaven, Roedean and two from Eastbourne) and three officers in attendance.

“The fire is in the roof space of a house and is being described as well developed.

“Firefighters are using two main jets, one hose reel jet and four breathing apparatus to tackle the fire.

“There are no reports of injuries.”

Sussex Police said, “Police were called by East Sussex Fire and Rescue at 3.35pm to notify that they are attending a fire in a loft at a house in Guardswell Place, Seaford.

“The road is currently closed and fire and rescue are on the scene.”
