BREAKING NEWS: Jacob Woudstra’s killer found guilty of murder

He was today (Monday) told he must serve a minimum of 26 years in jail before he can apply for parole.

Skilton, 42, of Wilton Road, Bexhill, stabbed Jacob in the chest at The Shah pub yards from his home in Mount Pleasant Road on April 5 this year.

The court heard how Skilton knifed Jacob over a long-running drugs dispute involving his brother, Levi.

At Hove Crown Court today, Judge Michael Lawson said: “It is well known that drug dealers leave their dirty business to other and that was your task.

“People who live by knives and carry them to use as weapons should serve a very substantial period.”

Detective constable Philip Xavier, of Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team, said afterwards: “Today’s verdict is the culmination of many months of police work in order that the man responsible for killing Jacob was brought to court.

“Although nothing will bring him back, we are pleased that the family have today got justice for the terrible crime that took him away from them so senselessly.”

Skilton had denied murder and perverting the course of justice, but was found guilty of both charges.
