Breaking news: Man killed by train at Balcombe


A British Transport Police spokesman said: “We were called to Balcombe station shortly after 10am on Wednesday, 3 December, after reports a person had been struck by a train.
“Colleagues from Sussex Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended, but a man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hide Ad“Officers are working to identify the man, whose death is not being treated as suspicious, and inform his family. We will file a report for the coroner.”
A spokesman for Network Rail apologised for the delay caused to passengers.
Railway lines through the station reopened at midday.
