BREAKING NEWS: Turbine gets green light

A WIND turbine at Glyndebourne looks set to go ahead following a government's decision to give planning permission.

The Express can reveal the Secretary of State has rubberstamped the controversial plan to build a 70m-high turbine on the site of a former windmill at Mill Plain, between the villages of Glyndebourne and Ringmer.

The decision follows a six-day public inquiry in February.

Jacquetta Fewster, a director from the South Downs Society, which opposed the plan, said: 'We are disappointed by the Government's decision.

'Although it's good the Government is taking the issue of climate change more seriously, in our view the huge wind turbine is the wrong development in the wrong place.'
