BREAKING NEWS: Two men charged in connection with West Sussex burglaries

TWO men have been charged in connection with West Sussex burglaries as part of a widespread investigation.

Detectives are investigating a series of burglaries across the South East, including 24 in West Sussex.

Steven White, 29, of no fixed abode, and Justin Collins, 34, of no fixed abode, have been charged with conspiracy to burgle.

Mr White appeared before Basingstoke magistrates on Wednesday, May 22. He was remanded into custody to appear before Winchester Crown Court on August 6.

Mr Collins was remanded into custody and will appear before Aldershot magistrates on June 6.

The charges are part of a cross-border operation led by Hampshire Constabulary targeting burglaries in Sussex, Hampshire, Surrey, Essex and Oxfordshire between November 2012 and May 2013.

One man has already been charged as part of this investigation – Guy Harbord, 29, of Lordship Lane, Dulwich, London. He was charged with conspiracy to burgle on Saturday, May 11.

In addition, a 39-year-old man from Kent and a 30-year-old man from London were released on bail until July 8, alongside a 20-year-old woman from Surrey, who is on bail until June 19.
