Simon Marcus Rhodes-Butler was jailed for seven years in September 2011 after he and accomplice Ilyas Ismail attacked and robbed a garage owner in South Norwood, London, in March that year.

Rhodes-Butler, 37, was convicted of robbery at Croydon Crown Court.

He was later moved to Ford Prison but absconded from there on May 22.

The announcement of his escape from Ford follows days after that of Kevin Brown, 54, who absconded from the Prison on April 10.

Police described Brown, who was jailed for life for conspiracy to rob and firearms offences, as ‘dangerous’.

He has so far evaded capture.

Rhodes-Butler, originally of Offord Road, Tottenham, has friends and family in London.
