BREAKING NEWS: Woman hurt after ‘reversing into a tree at speed’

EMERGENCY services have been treating an elderly woman who reversed her car into a tree in Rustington this afternoon (Monday, August 3), police have said.

The crash was reported shortly after 3pm to The Street.

Paramedics and police were at the scene of the crash, which was near the Rustington First World War memorial gardens.

Initially an air ambulance had been scrambled. However, this was soon called off as the injuries were only deemed minor by the paramedics on the scene.

The woman is being treated by paramedics.

At this stage, there is no information available as to whether she has been taken to hospital.
