BREAKING NEWS: Woman killed by car identified

AN 85-YEAR-OLD woman who died after she was hit by a car in Goring has been named.

Elizabeth Middleton, of The Leas, Rustington, was knocked down by a blue Vauxhall Astra saloon just before 2pm on Tuesday, December 22, in Goring Road, at the junction with George V Avenue.

She was airlifted by the Surrey charity air ambulance to Kings College Hospital, South London, with serious head injuries but later died.

The car driver, a 67-year-old local woman, was unhurt.

Anyone who saw the collision is asked to contact police on 0845 60 70 999, quoting Operation Hasfield.
