BREAKING NEWS: Worthing boy seriously injured in Angmering car crash - one boy arrested

A TEENAGE driver from Worthing has been arrested after a car crash this morning (Wednesday, April 14) left one boy with serious injuries and others rushed to hospital.

The 18-year-old boy was driving a blue Peugeot 106 along the A27 near Hammerpot, Angmering, at about 12.10am today (Wednesday, April 14) when he lost control just before the Woodman Arms pub sign and rolled into a field.

A 17-year-old Worthing boy, who was a front-seat passenger, was taken to St Richard's Hospital, Chichester, with serious spinal injuries.

A 16-year-old girl from Worthing was taken to Worthing Hospital with minor injuries while a 17-year-old girl from Hassocks was taken to St Richard's Hospital with slight injuries.

Both were sitting in the back of the car.

The driver was taken to Worthing Hospital with slight injuries and has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

He is currently in custody awaiting interview.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact 0845 6070999, quoting Operation Kendal, or anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
