Friday 17 March: St Patricks Day and I am sure all the Irish in the area will be celebrating, have a good day.

Brede Farmers Market, the place to go for some unique goods only sold there. Do pop in between 10am – 12 noon in Brede Village WEA is at 11am in Udimore Community Hall and Short Mat Bowls is at 7.30pm in Brede Village Hall, please wear soft shoes if this is your first visit.

Saturday 18 March: Emma’s Baby ballet is at 10am in Brede Village Hall. Tree Planting Today at 10am. Beryl was lucky in her application made last autumn to the Woodland Trust for a free copse pack of 30 saplings (10 Silver Birch, 10 Rowan and 10 Wild Cherry trees). The saplings have just been delivered and WI members propose to have a planting session starting at 10.00 am. The site will be on land in Brede where local residents are free to walk, enjoy the beautiful local countryside, and see how the saplings gradually grow, develop and blend into their setting to provide additional appropriate habitat for indigenous birds and wildlife. If these are issues that are important to you, you are welcome to come along and give a hand (bring your spade and wellies), or just supervise! Coffee or tea will be available after the planting. Monday 20 March: Pilates with Laura at 9.15am, in Udimore Community Hall.

This evening The Friends of St Mary’s Church Udimore are holding a Fabulous Fashion Show at 7pm in Udimore’s Community Hall. The event is to raise funds for the Friends of St Mary’s Church, Udimore. The work the friends undertake is to support the needs for the fabric of our lovely Norman church. The winter, usually yields some challenges that need addressing, and the Fabulous Fashion Show, hopefully, will do just that.

The committee is delighted to introduce a new Boutique to Rye and its surrounding area, called Kontrast of Rye. The boutique is in Lion Street, and run by Rena Stout and Susie Jaggs who are extremely experienced in the world of Fashion. Rena has previously organised prestigious shows in London and boasts having Celia Hammond as one of her models. If you are a cat lover, that name will be familiar to you as she has a marvellous sanctuary and animal shelter in Stubb Lane, Udimore. Kontrast of Rye will be accompanied by Herald and Heart Hats, the world famous milliner in High Street, Rye. We really are fortunate to have such expertise and flair right in our midst. They also have Miss Captain, a French Fashion House, that sells their fashions through agents in the UK. The new Spring/Summer collections are always keenly anticipated. Michele Duke, has been advising and dressing her customers for many years and knows just what to bring to the East Sussex fashion conscious woman. With all of this to whet the fashion appetite, it should be a “fabulous” evening. Tickets are £5 to include nibbles and the doors open at 7pm. Swap and Sip event from 8pm in the Rainbow Trout in aid of St Michael’s Hospice. Swap and Sip is a fantastic way to update your wardrobe, enjoy cocktails and have a girly evening out. Simply bring up to 10 items of clothing in a good clean condition, exchange them for tokens and enjoy rummaging to find your latest style!

During the run, participants will pass through colour zones, where the Cheery Chuckers will shower them in different colours of a special 100% safe colour powder.
