Digging up the Past: was well supported last Saturday, about 100 people turned up and had an enjoyable afternoon learning about the history of man from the Neolithic, bronze and Roman age and how we developed into Homo Sapiens Sapiens which is what we are. Sue told us that it is often fruitful to look at the bottom of a drilled field. Here in Sussex we might not find much as the land has been tilled for a long long time. However it is still worth looking as you never know what you may find. The talk ended and tea was served, lovely cream sponges and shortbread and a chance to look at the artefacts Sue had brought with her. to turn up our own antiquities. There is another chance to enjoy yourself on Saturday - read on.
