Urgently needed: The next Editor of the monthly Church Magazine. You need to be computer literate, tactful and patient, Copies should be sent to you by the middle of the previous month giving a week or so to formulate the layout of the magazine. You need to be able to use Publisher and be prepared to have this installed on your computer if you do not have it, a lap top could also be funded for the purpose if required Training will be given. Rugby Six Nations: as you can imagine I was jumping up and down and screaming ‘run’ at the TV last Saturday as Wales and England battled it out and oh, didn’t they. What an enthralling match, it was good clean rugby and I really wish they could have drawn equal because both teams worked so hard and it was such a close match. Well done to all the men on both teams. Of course the other matches have been good too, but my heart is in Wales and my feet in England so it is both of them that I am interested in. At this moment though it is still a fight to see who will lift the Triple Crown.

Brede Flower Festival: The first meeting for 2017 took place last week and the theme for this August Bank Holiday will be ‘Great Journeys’ If anyone fancies depicting a title in flowers then please contact Sue Sturmey 01424 882037 ASAP and book your place. There also as usual, is a great need for many volunteers to man stalls, help with the catering and parking etc. Raffle prizes will be needed and many cakes, jams, plants and books. If you can help at any time over August Bank Holiday weekend please contact Sue to find out who is in charge of the different groups.

Friday 17 February: Brede farmers Market is from 10am - 12noon in Brede Village Hall. I mentioned last week the many stalls that you can peruse, it is well worth a visit if you are in the area.

WEA is at 11am in Udimore Community Hall

Brede Short Mat Bowls takes place in Brede Village Hall at 7.30pm. New players welcome, please wear soft shoes.

Saturday 18 February: Sue Lee from Brede who is an archaeologist will be ‘Digging up the Past’ a talk on behalf of the Friends of St Mary’s Church at the Udimore Community Hall from 3pm – 5pm. Tickets are £ 7.50 and include tea & cake. If you are interested there may be some tickets left but they may have sold out by now. Monday 20 February: Exercise Class at 7.30am, in Udimore Community Hall. The Whist players will be in action in Brede Village Hall at 7.30pm. The Guiding section meet in the small hall of Brede Village Hall; the Rainbows meet from 4.15- 5.15pm, they welcome girls aged between 5-7 years, Julie Piper can be contacted for both on 01424 883464 or mobile 07863 599537. The Brede Scout sections are all held in the Scout Hut Stubbs Lane, Beavers welcome Boys and girls from 6 years old they meet from 5.15pm to 6.15pm. Swap and Sip is a fantastic way to update your wardrobe, enjoy cocktails and have a girly evening out. Simply bring up to 10 items of clothing in a good clean condition, exchange them for tokens and enjoy rummaging to find your latest style!
