The Brede Village Hall quiz: went really well and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and we raised just over £300 for the upkeep of the Hall. We will have another one next year same time so put it in your diaries now if you wish to join in. Strike Back Against Cancer I and many others are so proud of Julie McDonnel and her friends, despite having cancer herself she has tirelessly rung bells around the Country to raise money and awareness of the need for 2nd stem cell treatment in children. She told me Sunday that 5million has been reached and all this money goes directly to NHS BT who do the transplants and 2nd cell transplants for children. If you wish to have more information please contact http://juliemcdonnel.wixsite.com/sbabc or follow them on Twitter: allstand2gether Facebook:SBABC www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/SBABC

Lights of Love: As in previous years you can have a loved one remembered or an anniversary or to wish some one happy Christmas just by giving a donation to Andrew Burchett at Alexandra Cottage Stubbs Lane Brede or at The Farmers Market on Peter’s Apple Juice Stall. The donations will be sent to the Cardiac Unit at The Conquest Hospital as a number of our residents have had to use their facilities this year. The Christmas Tree in the Churchyard will be decorated with lights and a list of dedications will be on a list in St George’s Church

Champions of Brede: That refers to us all and the big draw is coming up and it is also time to pay the annual or bi annual subscription of £1 a month = £12 which can be paid by cash, cheque or through the bank.. It is a wonderful system, set up to help support the ongoing expenses and renovations of the then new Village Hall and it still applies today. Of course through the passage of time some of the original supporters have moved away or passed on. Therefore it is imperative that more join and you will have 12 chances to win some money back as a draw takes place each month, with two big ones in June and December.
