The Brede & Udimore Overseas Group: held their English Tea Party on Sunday afternoon. Brains were tested with a light hearted quiz and a sumptuous tea was greatly appreciated by those who attended and thanks to their generosity over £300 was made for their charities.

Donations, please: It would be very much appreciated if organisations using Brede Village Hall could donate a prize for the Village Hall Quiz. They can be given to me, Maggie Sandra, Mary Baker or Philip Romani.

Grants: As well as receiving a generous grant for the roof repair Trinity Methodist Church, Broad Oak has been chosen to receive a grant of between £8,000 and £12,000 from Tesco’s Bags of Help. Our project is to provide our community with improved access and good quality seating in the churchyard, with outdoor classroom facilities/nature study area for the Primary School. The money comes from sale of plastic bags. The actual amount will depend on a public vote in the St Leonards or Bexhill Tesco’s stores between 31 October and 13 November. Please support us by shopping at Tesco’s in these 2 weeks and ask your friends and neighbours. You collect a token at the checkout to vote for Trinity’s scheme. Many thanks for your support.
