HM Queen’s Birthday: Already a week of HM Queen’s 90th Birthday events have been completed and the last few are left to join in, they are all free.

Today: Please book by today for the Tea Party at the Village Hall on Monday as we need catering numbers. Please note: The Three Legs Brewery will not be at the Recreation Ground but in their own premises from 12 – 4pm.

Brede Farmers Market will have a Royal and Patriotic theme and Vocality will be performing at 10.30am.

Pilates with Laura at 9.15 and WEA at 11am are in Udimore Community Hall and Brede Short Mat Bowlers will be in Brede Village Hall at 7.30pm

Saturday 11th June: Emma’s Baby Ballet students will be in Brede Village Hall at 9am.

The Friends of St Geoerge’s Church are hosting a coffee morning in Dr John Crook’s home, Hillside Brede 10am -12noon access from the Church Path. There will be scones with fresh cream & strawberries, a bric a brac table and home made cakes for sale. It is an annual event and John’s garden is a lovely setting.

The Rainbow Trout will have the large screens on so that the televised activities in London including Trooping of the Colour can be seen. At 2pm Jimmy & the Jams are playing and cream teas are on offer, in the evening there is also live entertainment.

Sunday 12th June: Church Services this morning are as follows: Father Anthony White conducts the Mass service at 9.00 am in St Theresa’s Catholic Church on the old Northiam Road, if you need to contact the Father his number is 01424 773125

At 10.30am Mrs Christine Freeland will be taking the service in the Methodist Church in Broad Oak today. The Reverend Peggy Heim is the Pastoral Minister and she can be contacted on 01424 422350. and the Bells at St George’s Church will be rung in Honour of HM the Queen.

Parish Picnic in the recreation ground, 12.30pm - 4pm Mocking Jay duo will be entertaining and the Three Legs Brewery will have their Brewery open 12 – 4pm as they do not have a licence for the recreation ground. The Methodist Church will be in the Community Hall selling tea, coffee and soft drinks. Bring your own picnics and family from 12.30pm. (Pray for good weather)

Monday 13th June: Age Uk East Sussex Brede Community Club will meet in Brede Village Hall at 10 .30am – 1.30pm

Royal Tea Party will take place in Brede Village Hall and entertainment is by Ruth a fantastic guitar and singer performer. The event is from 2pm – 4pm, and is a free event but you need to book as there only 100 places. Call Maureen on 07850 987130 or Rhiannon on 01424 882037 ASAP.

The Guiding section meet in the small hall of Brede Village Hall; the Rainbows meet from 4.15- 5.15pm, they welcome girls aged between 5-7 years, the They have some spaces. Julie Piper can be contacted 01424 883464 or mobile 07863599537.

Tuesday 14th June: Pilates in Udimore community Hall at 9.15am

Painting for Pleasure in Brede Village Hall at 9.30am

Royal Tea Party in the Methodist Church in Broad Oak is cancelled today because of a funeral, it is now tomorrow instead – they apologise for any inconvenience.

Brede Scout Group will be inviting 10 - 14 year olds to join them in an evening of fun and camp fire activities. 7pm - 9pm at the Scout Hut in Stubb Lane.

Wednesday 15 June: Pilates with Laura in Udimore community Hall at 9.15am.

Royal Tea Party in the Methodist Church in Broad Oak is today 2.30pm – 4.30pm

Her Majesty the Queen’s 90th Birthday information is in the yellow pamphlet that was delivered to homes in the Village. It is also in the June Parish Magazine and here in this column for the last few weeks. I do hope that you have all taken advantage of the free events and had an enjoyable time.

Thursday 16th June: Stretch & Tone with Sally in Brede Village Hall at 9.30am Pilates with Laura is at 9.15 followed by Brede & Udimore Overseas Group Summer Lunch 1pm both in Udimore Community Hall. Sunday 19th June: At the Red Lion the Home Band will be playing from 9pm

Saturday 25 June: the Friends of St Mary’s Church invite you to a Midsomer Murder which is being performed by a very talented local group. It is a 7pm start and weather permitting it will be an outside event at Udimore Community Hall. Take your own picnic and drink. It will be a fun evening including a raffle.

Tickets are £7.50 Teams of 6-8 are ideal, teams can also be made up on the day.

Strike Back against Cancer.:Julie McDonnell a very brave lady who is a Bell Ringer for Brede and other Churches in Sussex has leukaemia (CML) and is organising a national ringing event on 25th June 2016 to help raise vital funds for research and give other blood cancer sufferers a chance of life.

The aim is to raise £100,00 and to add 1,000 potential stem cell donors to the Anthony Nolan Trust and associated registers.

They are asking walkers and Bell Ringers to walk the historic Pilgrims Way from Wye to Canterbury Cathedral with ringing at Churches along the route.

Amazingly the momentum has grown and Julie has been contacted from all over the world and bells will be rung in it’s far flung corners as well as in Britain. Well done to every one who has backed this cause and I really wish her and the team good weather for their walk and hope she reaches her target.
